ARA are a project that was created by Anders Altzarfeldt and Anders Ehlin.
Their friendship goes back to 1979, were they first meet. And through the year
they have played together in a couple of different bands.
Between 1984 and 1988 they played in Unchained and released
a Single (Queen of the Night / Fighting Fire). Unchained were also included on
an LP called Elva Band.
Throughout their companionship a lot of the material
that they wrote together never materialised into full songs, some did. Now has
the time come to give some of the material a new approached and do something
with the material.
After they approached Robert Johansson Lind and Mikael Grönroos, if
they would be kind to fulfil their goal the band ARA was materialised. Johansson
Lind and Grönroos are playing with Altzarfeldt in the band Highproject.

ARA as a band, is a four-way collaboration.
Altzarfeldt and Ehlin are digging their back catalogue of unfinished songs and
snippets and provide a new embryo of a song arrangements. That goes to Johansson
Lind, he provides vocals, bass, and input on the arrangements. Then Grönroos has
his saying about arrangements, and then, doing what he feels like doing on the
drum and percussion parts. When everybody is satisfied,
the song is ready for a
release.
The major goal for ARA is to create new music with old
material. If ARA should be playing live somewhere it would be a rear occasion,
but you never know.
